Cutting sheets manually on table saws introduces human error, slight measurement variances, and edge blowout. Vector eliminates layout gaps by processing all sheet goods on a commercial ShopSabre 4x8 CNC router driven by direct parametric CAD data. This computer-guided system locks physical machining tolerances down to within 0.2mm across every partition. Every single cabinet box comes off the bed perfectly square, and every parallel line of holes is flawless, creating a level of structural alignment that manual cutting cannot duplicate.
Running standard router bits through plywood or HDF can cause friction, heat, and ugly material tear-out on the face edges. Vector eliminates edge chipping by using high-end two-flute Amana compression bits paired with specialized nesting strategies. A compression bit features an upward-cut flute at the bottom and a downward-cut flute at the top, forcing the wood fibers inward toward the center of the sheet from both sides simultaneously. This dual-action cutting physics delivers a mirror-clean, splinter-free edge on both the top and bottom faces of the material.
When cutting small components or narrow drawer fronts on a CNC bed, the high lateral force of the router bit can break the vacuum seal, causing the part to shift and ruin the cut. We program our machine to execute an onion-skin cut, which processes the piece in two strategic passes. The first pass cuts down near the bottom but leaves a paper-thin skin of wood to maintain full vacuum suction and lock the part immovably in place. The machine then runs a lightning-fast second pass to slice through the thin skin cleanly, guaranteeing perfect squareness and precise dimensions on every component.
